Retaining Walls

Harrison Hot Springs is a resort village of around 1,500 permanent residents at the southern tip of Harrison Lake -- the largest lake in the southern Coast Mountains. The village is oriented entirely around the lake and the mineral hot springs that give it its name. Properties here range from compact village lots along Esplanade Avenue to hillside homes climbing steeply above the waterfront, with many serving dual purpose as permanent residences and vacation rentals.

The terrain transitions quickly from the lake shoreline to forested hillside, and most properties outside the flat village core involve meaningful grade changes. Lakefront lots face erosion and seasonal water-level considerations, while hillside parcels need properly engineered retaining solutions to create usable outdoor space. The resort aesthetic matters here -- natural stone, timber integration, and materials that complement the mountain-lake setting are expected, not optional.

Building permits are administered by the Fraser Valley Regional District, not the Village. Harrison also has the most restrictive fire regulations in our entire coverage area -- all open burning is prohibited, and gas fire features are limited to a 15cm flame height with a maximum 20-pound fuel canister. The tree protection bylaw uses a dual-threshold system requiring both diameter and height minimums before protection applies. We navigate these specific requirements on every Harrison project.
